Uyuni salt flats with an area of 10,582 square kilometers on the altiplano, it is the largest salt desert in the world, a product of prehistoric lakes that evaporated long ago. During some parts of the year, the nearby lakes overflow their banks and a thin layer of water transforms this plain into a beautiful reflection of the sky. This beautiful, otherworldly piece of land is a lucrative deposit for mining salt and lithium, an element used in the batteries of computers, smartphones and electric cars. In addition to the local workers who collect these minerals, this landscape is also home to the world’s first salt hotel and is visited by tourists who hit the road.

We start with the historic train graveyard, where visitors can explore the remnants of locomotives from the 19th century. Next, the tour proceeds to the salt processing town of Colchani, providing insights into the local salt industry.

Continuing the adventure, you will be taken to Isla Incahuasi, known as Fish Island, where you will encounter gigantic cactus and fascinating petrified coral rock formations. The natural wonders and panoramic views here are truly captivating. The visitors may also visit the original first salt hotel. There will enough time to allocated to experience the vast expanse of the salt flats themselves, providing a prime opportunity for taking perspective bending photographs an absolute must-do activity in this unique setting. Afterward, a delicious lunch awaits, served at the same location.

As the day winds down, the tour returns to Uyuni, with an estimated arrival time back in town at sunset. Before concluding the tour, participants are treated to an unforgettable experience a chance to witness the most fantastic sunset over the vast expanse of the Uyuni salt flats.
